Facts About Boats

We all know and have enjoyed boat rides, for a weekend, or a vacation, and enjoyed the calm and serene experience. Something that we never take out the time to know more about is how these boats are made and the mechanics behind it. Yanmar is a very old and trusted company which is manufacturing boat engines and its spare parts since 1912. Each boat is made with high safety and security standards while taking care of all the parts and different standards against which the quality of the boat is measured. Boats and their engines (and their parts) are available in various sizes and dimensions, according to the needs. Earlier boats were made of only wood, and then with the advancement in time it changed to fibreglass. Wooden boats give a very classic and luxurious look. But they need constant care, like scraping, sanding, varnishing, and painting, to keep them in good shape. This is one of the reasons wood was replaced by other materials for the making of boat.

If you are looking to buy high quality marine engine or spare parts for your boat, then, Yanmar Australia is your best option. It is famous for making clear-cut and attractive boat parts (also customized) for your boat. Now a days boats are made up of fibreglass, which is a strong material and also does not rust or rot (like wood). Small boats are also made of plywood that are either painted or covered with a layer of resin. The balance of the boat is also an important factor that is kept in mind while making a boat, because if the balance of the boat is not right then it is of no use (defective). The buoyancy factor is also kept in mind. Boats have two main sections: deck (which is the top part) and the hull (which is the bottom part) When fibreglass is used for making the boat, it is started from the outside. After the moulding, special care and precision is required when different components of the boat are assembled and customized, like engine, electrical fitting, deck flooring, and other accessories.

We are bringing together much classic, luxury and customized boats and organizing a “Classic Boats For Sale” where you can purchase a boat for yourself. Before buying any boat you should consider some factors so that you buy a useful and appropriate boat. For instance, if you need a boat just to enjoy weekends with you friends and family, then you should buy a small luxurious boat in your budget. You should always check the safety facilities of the boat you are buying because safety is one of the important factors. Check out the electrical fittings, the working of the generator, shaft logs and other things that are featured in the boat catalogue. Check if it is gas operated or diesel operated. Check the engine and its functionalities. Always insist on pre purchase inspection before you actually buy a boat. In our sale event we allow pre purchase inspection. Only when the customer is satisfied with all the functionalities of the boat, we sell the boat.

Wooden Boat Construction and Restoration

We all like enjoy a perfect weekend on a boat. The construction process of a boat is also enthralling. Let us explore the wooden boat construction process. The first step of any boat production is the mould preparation, which is done in a controlled environment. Boat moulds are made of fibreglass which provides the strength and smoothness to the whole structure. Then a premium polyester NPG gel layer is coated on it. This is done to provide colour retention, a high gloss, and superior resistance to fading on the boat. Full attention is given in this process so that the customer is satisfied. After this is done, vacuum infusion is done, which is basically a process in which vacuum is used to pull the resin in the mould. Vacuum infusion is done to avoid air gaps and the hand lay-up inconsistencies. Furthermore, this helps in making the boat light weight and environment- friendly and strong. The next step is the fibre glass grid system installation. The grids are fitted in the hull. The grids are moulded differently for every model to make it fit perfectly. This provides the safety and strength, which are the two most important considerations of the manufacturing process. After the fibreglass grid system installation, foam floatation is installed. The foam is cured accurately, and then the moulds are removed. The boat is reviewed after this.

Now it’s time to install fuel system in the boat structure. There are different fuel systems that can be installed in your boat according to your need and the model of the boat. Every fuel is designed so that it can provide accommodations for integral expansion and contraction. Now that we have installed the fuel system, we will fix the cockpit floor. The important factor to be kept in mind while doing this is the ratio of the strength and weight should be consistent. You can change this wooden boat restoration process later on if you are not happy with it. The cockpit floor is attached with the grid system with the help of strong adhesive. This process is completed by sealing this with the fibreglass laminate so that water cannot enter into the structure. The next step in the process is the making of the deck system, which also requires detailed attention and care. The deck’s overhang serves another purpose; it acts as a spray rail, which is responsible to keep the deck dry in the rough conditions. Now that your boat has a deck, it’s time to install other components into the boat, like centre consoles, leaning posts and other important items to complete your boat. We try to attach all the components in a permanent way so that all the components are secured and safe. It’s time to perform the final assembly, like electrical and wiring, hardware, canvas and cushions, windows and wind shields.

Yanmar is a company that believes in precision and safety measures to be followed in the making the boats. It has constructed many boats like Jane is a 46' Pilot House cruising gaff rigged cutter, carvel planked over steam bent frames of all timber construction. It is personally designed and adorned by the owner’s son, Rodney Eggleston, (who is a famous designer). When the engine is installed, we keep in mind the compatibility of all the components. A team of experts work on assembling all the components and making them work in coordination. After everything is installed, an inspection is conducted following tough standards so that the boat does not have any defects like leakages, balance issues, safety issues, and engine efficiency issues. We try to be innovative while designing every new boat and experiment with different custom looks and luxuries. The wiring and electronic fittings are rechecked so that there are no short circuit concerns and everything is working properly. There is no leverage when it comes to quality and security and the best resources are used in the whole process. The hardware used in the boat making is of high quality to provide best efficiency in all spheres of the performance scales. Different techniques, like vibration absorbing, are used to ensure safety and efficient performance. We have organized “Classic Boats for Sale” event, where you can find best boats for yourself which passes all our safety standards.

History of Yanmar

We all have been enjoying the reviving experience of boating from a long time.  Ever wondered about the smooth running engines of your classic luxury boats, traditional wooden boats or semi-custom boats?

A company that is providing premium quality engines and their spare parts since 1912 is Yanmar. When this company was founded, it was under the name YAMAOKA HATSUDOKI KOSAKUSHO, which roughly translated means Engine Manufacturing Company. In 1921, the name “Yanmar” was adopted. This year was also memorable for this company as horizontal oil engine model launched. It sold the first powered rice huller in Japan. By the end of 1930, it has achieved more things. For instance, it has started exporting Horizontal Kerosene Engines; an oil engine model was launched for fishing boat applications. It has also developed vertical 2-Cycle 5 HP Diesel Engine, which was purchased by the Ministry of Agriculture (it is still displayed in the showroom at the Yanmar Nagahama Plant). The progress didn’t stop here, but kept on increasing with time. In the year 1949, a new plant was opened in Japan, which started the production with parts for small diesel engine fuel injection pumps. The founder of the company, Mr Magokichi Yamaoka, was awarded the Medal with Blue Ribbon by the Government of Japan. The name was again adapted, YANMAR DIESEL CO., LTD. in 1952. Another award was added into the legacy of the company in the year 1955 by the German Inventors Association, the Diesel Gold Medal. This is a brand name that you can trust without any doubt. If you are looking for a way to purchase any sailing boat engines, power boat engines and spare parts, Yanmar Australia offers you that opportunity. The company started expanding their business to other countries. Another plant, named OMORI PLANT, was opened in Japan in the year 1960. The presidency of the company changed in 1962 and Mr Yasuhito Yamaoka presumed the presidency, who was then succeeded by Mr Tadao Yamaoka. Till the year 1977 rolled on, research and development centre was established. A largest output engine model was launched in the year 16ZL, which was a huge accomplishment. In the same year FZ22 pleasure boat model was launched. From then on the production kept on increasing. This company is rewarded with many awards over the years for many of its innovations, like 3L15 marine propulsion engine model, the L air cooled diesel engine series, the D outboard engine series, the TNE vertical water cooled diesel engine series, the EcoTra tractor series, and electric propulsion systems.

In addition you can find in-depth advice, hands-on assistance and genuine engine parts from us. We provide engines and spare parts that are ISO9001 certified. We also offer hand built boats, which are cost-effective. The boats that we make are reliable as we take special case and safety measures while making the boat. We try to put creative ideas in boat making while making it cost-effective and fuel-efficient. We try to ensure that every part in the boat is reliable. For instance, the ribs of the boat are painted early so that they don’t split in the nailing process. The floor timbers and the mast step which are very important for the strength of the bottom of the boat are built precisely with no scope of any mistake. These are installed with the stringers and gunnals to make the boat more strong. The boats available in the wooden boats for sale event are all strong built, beautiful to look at and will make your boating experience memorable.

We also etch the name of the boat according to you. You can choose to display any signature or a different style in which the name of the boat will be revealed. In this way you can make your boat unique and different from other boats that you are sailing with. We are very careful in the painting process and cautious while painting between the lines. We always try to give our best so that our customers are happy with the output (which is the name of your boat). We finish the work in the first attempt so that we don’t have to repaint. Repainting is difficult, time consuming and there are chances that it may not come out as attractive as it can come in first attempt. Enjoy the classic boats for sale programme organized by us and buy a luxury boat for yourself and your family, that’s dependable, consistent, and trustworthy.

Yanmar: Boats and Diesel Engine

Yanmar is renowned for manufacturing engines that are used in a wide range of applications, like agricultural, marine, and construction equipment. We come under the heavy equipment manufacturing industry. Engines are the most important part of any machinery, and keeping this in mind we follow all the ISO (ISO9001) standards in all the development process. Each and every standard and precautions are followed in the manufacturing process so that the outcome (the whole engine or any of the engine part) is the best product (both in standard and utilization).

As the diesel thermal engines have highest thermal efficiency, even a small efficiency loss can cause a disaster to the machinery. From the year 1910, diesel engines are used in the submarines and ships, which are manufactured in two stroked and four stroked versions. These engines replaced the stationary stream engines as these are more efficient and capable.  From the last 20 years, we are also trying to show our presence in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) market that is primarily used in agricultural application. The forte of our company is the production of diesel engines along with making light boats, hulls of ships, tractors, combine harvesters, rice-planting machines, gas heat pumps, snow throwers, and transporters. Keeping in pace with the advancement in the technology, we are featuring computerized controls and advanced systems to increase the efficiency of the engines and make them more durable and powerful. We are in the top brands for marine machinery.
We are the first in using a diesel engine in a rice planting machine including a passenger seat. One of the best engines manufactured by us is Small, light, air-cooled diesel engine. Almost all of the marine engines and their parts are available with us.

There is a vast sales and service network all around the world of our company. You can opt for sailing boat engines, power boat engines and spare parts from Yanmar Australia.
