When this company was founded, it was under the name YAMAOKA HATSUDOKI KOSAKUSHO, which roughly translated means Engine Manufacturing Company. In 1921, the name “Yanmar” was adopted. The founder of the company, Mr Magokichi Yamaoka, was awarded the Medal with Blue Ribbon by the Government of Japan. The name was again adapted, YANMAR DIESEL CO., LTD. in 1952. Another award was added into the legacy of the company in the year 1955 by the German Inventors Association, the Diesel Gold Medal. This is a brand name that you can trust without any doubt. Till the year 1977 rolled on, research and development centre was established. A largest output engine model was launched in the year 16ZL, which was a huge accomplishment. In the same year FZ22 pleasure boat model was launched. From then on the production kept on increasing. This company is rewarded with many awards over the years for many of its innovations, like 3L15 marine propulsion engine model, the L air cooled diesel engine series, the D outboard engine series, the TNE vertical water cooled diesel engine series, the EcoTra tractor series, and electric propulsion systems.
